Michael Pope had high hopes when he went to Peach State Speedway for the prestigious World Crown Weekend. After racing at Peach State five previous times this season, Pope was hoping to use this experience to his advantage. But despite having a good racecar early on, he was unable to avoid some bad luck.
“The car was really good at the beginning of the race,” said Pope.
“It got tight about twenty laps into the run and then we adjusted the
brakes to the rear, and that helped a lot. We got four tires at lap
100 and the car was really good after that. Then we just had some
bad luck and got caught up in some rough driving incidents.”
Next up for Pope and his #44 team is the Snowflake 100, which is
held during the Snowball Derby on Saturday, December 2, at Five
Flags Speedway in Pensacola, FL.
“We’ve got some work to do before we go to the Snowflake,” said
Pope. “But we’re looking forward to that.”
