There are plenty of things in life that are sweet, and this weekend the most sweetest thing that could happen for 16-year-old Michael Pope would be to bring home a Georgia Asphalt Series victory at Watermelon Capital Speedway (GA).
“It’s only about an hour drive to Watermelon Capital,” said Pope. “I am pretty excited to go, I think that we will have a really good car. After the last race at Peach State, we went over the car again really close, like we did after Lanier and that really helped us at Peach State and I think it will be awesome at Cordele.”
All season long Pope’s team has gotten stronger and stronger and their finishes have shown it. He hopes this weekend, when he is at the track closest to his hometown, is when all of that hardwork and consistency culminate together.
“We have been on a roll lately and I hope that we can come off of our good finish at Peach State and have that carry on to Cordele.”
