Michael Pope is getting ready for another race this weekend
and it’s coming at a track that is not quite one of his favorite.
The Georgia Asphalt Series will take on Lanier National
Speedway this Saturday September 23rd and Pope is heading
there with a bit of a pep in his step.

“I am pretty excited since we are coming off such good races,
” said Pope.  “We have finished top-ten and top-five in our last
three races and I think that will extend this weekend to Lanier.
At least I hope it does.   We should be really good, and we
are getting some help from Ronnie Sanders as well and that
should all add up for a really great weekend.”

School has been in session for quite a while, and Pope will have to finish up the school week on Friday before he can turn his full attention to the race at Lanier.

“I am going into it with a good attitude,” added Pope.  “I think that is really important.  We are going to practice on Friday evening.  As soon as I get out of school we are going to head that way toward the track and hopefully we will be able to get our car set up then and be ready to go on Saturday.”

The Georgia Asphalt Series event will get underway this Saturday September 23rd at Lanier National Speedway with racing action beginning at 7 o’clock pm.
