What could be better in the middle of the summer than some nice, cold, sweet peaches?   How about a hot, slick victory at Peach State Speedway (GA)?  That is exactly what 16-year-old Michael Pope is hoping for as he heads back to his favorite track for the second time this summer with the Georgia Asphalt Series.

“This week we are going back to Peach State and each time we go back I learn different things about the track,” said Pope.  “Last time, I learned that in qualifying you don’t have to drive it in as hard as I thought.   You may think you do but you are just as well of taking it easy. On my warm-up lap I had about the fifth fastest time and knowing that I think we will do really good this week.”

HOT SUMMER DAYS AT PEACH STATE
Pope Back To His Track
Each time that Pope had headed back to the fast track, he has gotten better and better.  He hopes that this time the experience will equal a victory for him

“The track has gotten slicker and a lot looser than it was at the beginning of the season and because it is so hot so you have to be more careful.  But it shouldn’t be too slick, not so slick that it will stop me from going into victory lane.”

The Georgia Asphalt Series will take to the track this Saturday July 22nd, at 7:00 pm at Peach State Speedway, located in Jefferson, GA.
