Michael Pope’s racing season got even more impressive at his latest event at South Alabama Speedway. The young driver put his car up front in qualifying, earning the pole position and after the inversion he started the event from the second spot.
“It was a good weekend,” said Pope. “We had to make some adjustments during practice. The car was tight and the adjustments that we made really helped the car. We sat on the pole. We had to draw for the inversion but we started 2nd. We dropped to fourth at the beginning of the race and were able to hold on for third.”
His third place finish at South Alabama is just the latest on an already extremely impressive season and he will have the opportunity to continue his streak this weekend as he returns to his favorite track, Peachstate Speedway.
“Third is really good and we are really happy with it,” added Pope. “It’s my best finish for that track and we just got to keep our momentum going and hopefully we can get the win again this weekend at Peachstate.”
