“We had a good run going,” said Pope. “We qualified fourth, and ended up starting third. The car was really good the first 50 laps. We came in and changed tires, but the stagger on the tires just went away and we became really loose throughout the race. We were able to bring it home 11th.
Pope will get right back in the racing action this weekend as he heads to Nashville for the ASA Southeast Asphalt Tour at Music City Motorplex. It will be his first time back to the ASA SAT in about a month and Pope is looking forward to making waves this weekend in the Music City.

For the past year or so, the South has been in a severe draught. This past weekend however, it got some needed relief. That relief came at the expense of the Super Late Model event at Mobile International Speedway, putting a damper on Michael Pope's plans for a double-header weekend, and what could have been double victories. He instead had to settle for a top-15 finish at Pensacola Speedway on Friday night.
